Remember how gorgeous Granny’s vanity looked? Everything had a place, and everything was beautifully arranged.
Hairbrush, perfume bottles, manicure sets — all the things we now hide in a cabinet were in full display, and sometimes we find treasures like this that are practical but pretty.
Ceramic Lipstick Holders
Several generations ago, most homes didn’t have closets, or at least the walk-ins we have now, much less more than one bathroom. So it makes sense that cosmetics and grooming were stowed in plain sight.
This lipstick lady holds three tubes in her ballgown, and is adorned with painted flowers. Side note — just look at those lashes and hair! So pretty.
She reminds me of the vintage hair-keepers with the big lashes and if you’re lucky to find one, adorning dangling pearl earrings and a beauty mark. 💋
